Bill grew up in a haunted home in Hazelton, Pa. Strange occurrences became common experience. Family members visiting would also experience different events. Bill tells a story of answering the home phone and a male voice on the other end said “Bill, tell your sister I'll be right down” The phone line returned to that beeping noise back in those days of a disconnected call. The voice was that of his sister’s boyfriend who had died 24 hours prior.
Bill’s experiences sparked his interest in the paranormal. At a young age, he began researching information available on the paranormal. He has maintained that interest over the years.
Around 1990, Bill organized the Northeast Ghost Specialists. He led members of the same interest in research of events in local homes. Word spread and Bill and the group received referrals asking for help with unexplained events in homes around the northeast.
Education has also become a goal of Bill’s. He has set up exhibits to explain “ghost hunting” and the different equipment used. Bill and the group have been invited to high school classes where they explain and provide evidence of paranormal activities. The teacher uses the presentation as part of the class understanding the various aspects of research. Not only do the students see some incredible evidence, they also utilize the class material. Students engage asking relevant questions of the NGS team, offer theories, and sometimes express disbelief. While Bill leads the presentation, all NGS members answer questions and describe their experiences.
Bill is also a nondenominational minister. Beyond the investigation, homeowners have requested help with some paranormal activities. They prefer the activities stop. Bill has been successful in most instances after he blesses the home.
Bill also auditioned for a position as a ghost hunter on a cable network show. The company was Pilgrims Studios out of Los Angeles. Bill made it through and was a finalist. He was awaiting word on the start of the production when he received a call the producers decided to continue with the original cast.
Aside from the paranormal research and investigations, Bill enjoys weightlifting and gunsmith.
Bill presently is retired, his career was a police officer and a lieutenant in the department of corrections.
Josh is the co founder of NGS. Bill and Josh worked together. Bill asked Josh to join him on the venture of NGS.
As a fan of the unknown and paranormal at a young age, Josh did a lot of reading and movie watching to feed his itch. As the years went by he came to live in a house that he truly believed was haunted, from things being moved, slammed, touched, and physically hurt. He has been able to use his knowledge and grow as a group with NGS. Josh is currently a corrections officer. He is presently a support investigator and available when needed.
Since Braden was young, he was drawn to anything horror which started his interest in the paranormal. He would read true books and watch TV shows in order to learn about the paranormal and the equipment they use. He started investigating in Gettysburg with a local group, then started doing solo investigations in family homes and cemeteries, and now he works with NGS. Braden enjoys anything horror related and is a fan of Star Wars. He has attended horror conventions in New Jersey, Maryland, and even California. Braden is currently working on his real estate license and plans on perusing real-estate investments. Presently Braden is a mixologist.
Athena has been with the team for many years. She finds that the thrill of contacting spirits on the other side is what keeps drawing her back to do more. She also feels that she has medium connections to spirits. On investigations, she feels she is there to be a vessel to be more active and bring more activity forward for the team.
Athena is Bill's daughter
Colleen has had an interest in the paranormal ever since she was young. Billy and Colleen are cousins, so they would hang out when they were kids at his childhood house and she would experience first hand the paranormal events that were going on there. She appreciates the knowledge that Bill gives her about the paranormal and uses all of that when she investigates. She presently works in manufacturing.
Colleen enjoys attending horror conventions. Colleen is Braden's mother.
Angel's interest in the paranormal was sparked by listening to her father, Josh's, stories and watching Youtube videos. She is a junior investigator and continues to learn with each new investigation.
Angel is Josh's daughter.

Kim has been interested in paranormal, specifically ghosts, since seeing her grandfather about the age of 10 y/o and Kim’s 3 y/o son. Over the years she read what was available. She was introduced to the writing of Dr. Kubler-Ross, who “was a Swiss-American psychiatrist, a pioneer in near-death studies, and author”. Kim has studied her work.
Kim has experienced other phenomenon such as seeing spirits or shadow people (explained by a prophetic American Indian to her), predictive feelings, empathic emotional state of others, ability to read rune cards. She is also a non-practicing metaphysical minister.
These studies and experiences helped Kim as a social worker in all her career paths. She is now retired from this field and enjoying catching up on studies she was not able to do while raising her family. She studies all things metaphysical, spirits, dowsing, runes, crystals, and music that heal. Baking, knitting, and photography fill in her down time.
Kim has been known as a prankster and loves humor.
Kim is frequently behind the camera, not to mention shy, and thus no pictures are available.
Vickie is an original NGS member. She joined the group back in 1990. She participates as time allows for the past 20 years. Vickie is willing to teach new members about ghost hunting.
Local to Hazelton or Wilkes Barre, Pa? Could you be our next member?
While most of the team are family members, those that are not related are welcomed. The ties that bind make for interesting interactions and fun. Our group is exceptional because of that. The investigations are detailed, different perspectives, debunking can be redundant, frankness, and openness to share thoughts. Because of the closeness it makes for more of an efficient investigation and a skill set not always available in other groups.
Bill prefers the group not investigate paranormal related to demonic cases. Referrals will be made to appropriate resources known to Bill. Bill has known his resource for over 15 years.
